These sculptures represent 6 years of exploration of ceramic-based sculpture where I began from basic hand-building through to the creation of more complex shapes and some wheel-based vessel production. I also experimented with a variety of surface decorating techniques including hand-made glazes, decals and lustres.
Some of these pieces were included in my 2023 exhibition Human Remains which featured at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery in Ballina. The pieces in that exhibition were designed to look old and weathered, like contemporary relics, which is a style that continued into the body of the work shown at Mist Gallery in 2024.
