This is my most current work which began almost accidentally as I found myself struggling with the events both locally and internationally that are directly related to the effects of climate change. These include the massive fires in Australia in 2019 and the huge flood in the Northern Rivers area in 2022. Art-making is one of the main ways that I process my thought and feelings and in this way, these artworks are a reflection and an outlet for my angst and anxieties.
I am in the process now of unravelling this theme further and contemplating what I can contribute to the conversation around this climate catastrophe and how it affects us as people and societies. I hope to create a larger body of work on this theme over the coming year or so.
